Selling a House During a Divorce, Downsizing or a Move in Wisconsin
Sally Buys Houses helps Wisconsin homeowners sell a house during a divorce, a downsize, a relocation, or a parent's move into assisted living, on a closing date that fits the change instead of the market. Big changes are hard enough without a complicated home sale on top.
Selling the house in a Wisconsin divorce
Wisconsin is a marital property state, so the house is usually part of what gets divided, and your settlement or court order sets the rules. Both owners generally need to agree to the sale and how the proceeds are split. A direct as-is sale can mean fewer showings, fewer decisions to agree on, and a clear closing date. I give the same information to both parties, and your attorneys can review everything before anyone signs.
Selling a parent's house for a move into assisted living
Moving a parent or relative into assisted living or a nursing home often happens quickly, while the house is still full of a lifetime of belongings. You may be managing it from out of town, or with power of attorney. I can work around the family's schedule, and in many cases you can take what matters and leave the rest behind as agreed before closing.
Downsizing from a house you've outgrown
Ready for less house and less upkeep? If your home is in great shape, listing with an agent may bring a higher price, and I'll tell you so (here is how to compare the two). If it needs updating, or you'd rather skip months of showings and repairs, a direct sale with a flexible move-out date might be the easier path.
Selling before a move out of state
A new job or a move closer to family doesn't always line up with how long a traditional sale takes. We can pick a closing date that matches your move, and I can coordinate much of the process with you remotely. The three steps work the same from across the country.
Definitely recommend Sally Buys Houses! It’s nice not having to worry about house repairs before selling. Sally was easy to talk with and very knowledgeable. Great experience overall.
Sally was really great to work with. She's patient and looks for a solution that will work for the seller. I appreciated her creative options. I highly recommend her if you have a house to sell.
Questions about selling during a divorce, a downsize or a move
Am I obligated to sell if I ask for an offer?
No. Asking questions or getting an offer doesn't commit you to anything. Plenty of people talk with me and decide to list, repair, or wait, and that's okay.
How fast can you close?
When the title is clear and the paperwork is in place, I can often close in about 14 days. If you need more time to move, settle an estate, or find your next place, we'll set a date that works for you.
How do you decide what to offer?
I look at the property's condition, what comparable homes have sold for, the likely repair costs, and current market conditions. If you'd like to understand how I arrived at a number, I'll show you the factors that went into it.
Tell Sally about your house, whenever you're ready
Whether you're ready to sell or just have questions, I'd welcome the conversation. Call or text me at 608-406-4615, email [email protected], or send a few details and I'll reach out.
